Xbox 360 due to the better GPU architecture & better graphics. If you actually read into the type of GPUs they have Xbox has the better set up. :lol:
R500 > RSX :o
DragonicTrebor - September 12, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
im sorry but xbox doesnt have good graphics at all. They dont even compare to ps3 because they are using cell graphics which is way too advanced for xbox360 and did you know that the graphics on halo 3 look exactly like the halo 2 game but just modified the engine a little thats it. I work with someone who work on the xbox360 and has ps3 than an xbox but they do have some good games i have to say that. I just dont like they system period thats all. Not trying to be mean or anything.

Lmao Cell is a Processor Not a A GPU (Graphical Processing Unit) the actual GPU in the PS3 is the RSX which is actually a modified Geforce 7800. The Xbox 360 GPU is better because it uses unified shader technology to smooth out the jagged edges of the graphics not like RSX. So with the Xbox 360 Xenos GPU you get a better image quality than the PS3 due to the free Anti Aliasing it uses. RSX may have the performace in FPS but the truth is the graphical image quality is actually lower than an Xenos. So that is why Xbox 360 games look better.... :lol:
RSX = 25 pixel pipelines
Xenos = 48 pixel pipelines

Well i have a video for you to watch about the gpu and cpus of each system. My it tech director would like you to meet the the video game god who is John Carmack(who created doom and first 3d game ever) if you heard of him. Explain y ps3 has better graphics than xbox360.

If you actually read my posts you would know that PS3 GPU is based on the nvidia Geforce 7 series & the Xbox GPU on the Ati Radeon X1K family. Anyone who knows computers graphics would agree that the Radeon X1K family has a finer quality of image than the Geforce 7 series. It's funny how the PS3 GPU architecture is already outdated & most modern GPUs do use a unified shader technology as seen in the Xbox 360. The new Geforce 8 series uses unified shader technology but I doubt sony will actually will install those into their PS3.

Processing Power:
The PS3 uses a Cell processor with a PowerPC-based core with seven synergistic processing units while the Xbox comes with a Custom IBM PowerPC CPU with three dual-threaded cores that can handle six total threads at a time. An important comparison to look at is the number of dot product calculations per second the systems can perform. The reason this number is important is because it is used extensively during gameplay in 3d math to calculate various things such as vector lengths, projections, transformations, and more. Both systems are clocked at 3.2 Ghz. The PS3 can handle 51-billion dot product operations per second and the Xbox can handle 33.6 .There is a debate over which system has more brute processing power and these numbers can be confusing to the average person, but overall it seems that the PS3 has an edge over the Xbox when it comes to overall processing power.
Media Type:
Since PS3 is owned by Sony and BLUray is Sony’s next high definition storage medium, the PS3 games will be stored on the BLUray discs which hold approximately 54 gigs. The Xbox 360 games will be stored on Double Layer DVDs which store 9 gigs. Obviously the BLUray discs can store a lot more data, but at the current stage of game development, any game developed will fit just as well on the 9 gig DVDs, so this is not a major factor but one that may come into play later on.
Games:
When considering games, you have to look at the XBOX and the PS2. The XBOX is very popular in the US and has a few great franchise games such as Halo, but the PS2 has an international reach and several popular game franchises such as Gran Tourismo that the XBOX has yet to beat. The XBOX 360 will need to appeal to foreign game developers and consumers to compete with the PS3. Only time will which console will have the quality of games which all of us are been expecting
Aww the foriegners like the PS3 Better, PS3 wins on getting more games anyways

I know that Rin, PS3 has 9 seperate cores & Xbox only 3 cores but those are CPUs which have no effect on the graphics, they only process info. You'll have to research more in to each GPU architecture which actually renders each image. Xbox has a modified R500 GPU aka Xenos & PS3 has a modified G70 GPU aka RSX... :lol: Unified shader technology > that parallel pixel pipelines.
That is why Xbox 360 is better in graphical images!
Rin(M.C) - September 15, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
well all i want is to play games :P and ps3 has more games :game:
f¨£¢Ó¥á¨¨ r¥åun©¥on©÷ - September 15, 2007 01:14 AM (GMT)
Lmao you know that Xbox 360 has more games out since it's been out for more than a year than ps3 :lol:
vantran90 - September 15, 2007 01:41 AM (GMT)
lmao pwned i agree with fatal reuninon
DragonicTrebor - September 15, 2007 03:42 AM (GMT)
exactly so if they came out the same time, PS3 would have more games. and they almost caught up with them even if they came out after Xbox 360. Well fatal and vantran your totally wrong but ps3 would have more cause of the previous system they had, unlike xbox they dont abadon there previous systems like that. So they will keep on getting more and more games by the month. So its inevitable for xbox to actually get more games.
Vincent - September 15, 2007 03:54 AM (GMT)
I have to go with the PS3. B)
Kamiya - September 15, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
Well, I got both PS3 and Xbox 360.
But I'll vote for PS3
Rin(M.C) - September 17, 2007 05:57 PM (GMT)
so it seems PS3 is winning
4 to 1
DragonicTrebor - September 17, 2007 05:57 PM (GMT)
My it tech director (A Graphics Programmer in the Game Industry) would like to know if you know what a pixel shader by definition is? 2. Do you even know what shader model it uses on the GPU Hardware fpr the XBOX360?
f¨£¢Ó¥á¨¨ r¥åun©¥on©÷ - November 11, 2007 12:06 AM (GMT)
Both Xbox & PS3 use Direct X 9. Xbox has better color & texturing, Obviously you don't know that... :lol:
