Title: Stallion - Good or bad?

Most people who have this game often dislike this elf. Sure, I can understand that, he has low stats, an almost useless rune stuck to him, and he's really arrogant (like most elves in this game).
I've been through the game a few times and ignored him up untill the last time I played.
His true holy rune, although useless in combat, was handy for running back an forth to places, but stallion really shined when I teamed him up with Kirkis. Their unite bow attack is awesome! I killed many groups of enemies in one attack. It made a large portion of the game easier.
The only downside was that he was next to useless in Boss Battles. The bow unite doesn't help against strong enemies and Kirkis was too busy using magic. So then all Stallion was used for was a medicine factory.
Alternatively, you could use Ruby instead or stallion and still have a (slightly weaker) bow unite with Kirkis, and a good magic stat against bosses.
What do you think?

Well i never used stallion but i like using ruby in the beginning cause she was moderate player in the beginning. I like stallions rune but no use to me when i wanted to is fight.

Yeah, the holy rune doesn't do anything in combat. It's a shame each character can only equip 1 rune.
Although saying that, I never used Stallion in Suikoden II, even though he could equip more runes.

Anyway, hows this for a tactic:
Use Kirkis & Stallion for most of the game for easy enemy kills and faster travelling for character recruitment,
and use Kirkis & Ruby for the final dungeon to make the final boss a bit easier.
