ok, so the heroes escape, the white materia struggles against Meteor, RedXIII says something about it having the opposite effect, life-stream comes along, big flash, and everything's in rubble 400 years later.
Before Advent Children came out, everyone had a different opinion on what the ending was supposed to mean. When you first saw this, what did it mean to you?
Earlier in the game, Bugenhagen tells us that White Materia would get rid of everything that was hurting the plannet, and all through the game we're reminded that the human race is killing the plannet by draining mako. So when RedXIII said that holy is having the "opposite effect", that might be the reason.
And when we see the '400 years later' scene, it suggests to me that human race had all been taken care of, leaving just Red's race, and various animals that don't damage the plannet.
I beleive that was truly what the ending is supposed to mean, and that they had no intention of making advent children and dirge of cerberus back then.
What do you think?
