The verdict is in: Japan thinks XBOX 360 sucks.
2% of Japanese gamers (out of 1000) said they would buy the 360. And seeing that, according to cnet, only "about 62,000 units were purchased
"The sales figures for that week went as followed. Sony sold over 80,000 new PS2s, Xbox 2,000. PSOne 4,000. Nintendo’s GameCube 15,000, & Dreamcast 3,000 system unit’s. Yeah, you read that correctly: a staggering 2,000."

I didn't think it was going to do THIS bad. Looks like Microsoft still can't buy their way into the market. Pushing graphics and sequels impresses no one.
